TVUplayer

TVUplayer is a very basic program when it comes to using it – mostly because it has no options.

So how do I record using TVU?

First you will need a program called VLC witch can be downloaded here Download.com.

Install VLC and open it.

- Go to Fil – Open NetworksStream.

Now a box should apear.

- Mark the one called HTTP/HTTPS/FTP/MMS

Go to the bottom where the “Advance options is”

- And write the following in “customize:” http://127.0.0.1:8901/ (Note: This URL is only for TVUplayer, when recording with Sopcast, this will be different.)

-Now mark “Stream/save” and choose “settings” next to it.

- Mark “fil” and press “browse” find a place where to save it and called it “example.wmv” (the WMC is very importent)

- Go down and mark the ones called “Video codec” and “Audio codec” (do nothing else)

- Now press Okay and it should automaticly start saving from the channel that you are watching.

You can start and pause it as you will if you do not like the commercials and so on.

Enjoy!

Differences on the programs

I am going to tell a bit about the program differences and which to use in difference situations.

First TVUplayer, this program is very easy to use – Download and choose channel – Simple! But the recording on this program is a bit difficult, and will be in a different categorie.

-

Secondly PPmate. With this program you do get a lot of options, but a lot of it is streamed from Japan/China (not sure), the recording on the other hand is very easy, just push the big RED button and it will record. With PPmate you get to see a lot of films, (no adults dough, i have checked it myself.) PPmate very easy, lots of channels and easy to use!

-

Thridly Sopcast. Sopcast is also a hard recording program (but again as TVU I will explain later) Sopcast is a very nice program especially if you do like (as myself) to watch sports games, ESPN and TNT and so on are all there! Sopcast is  easy if you want to stream yourself. Also easy but channel quality can change.

-

Last and not least MAXTV. This program is a bit different, first of all the hole installation is thing is on french, but as soon as it is install you can change the language to english, and then the funs begin! MaxTV has a lot of channels, in very good quality and has the same easy-to-use recording system as PPmate has. So MaxTV is the place to be if you really want some nice online TV for FREE.

Watching TV on your Computer

How easy is it to watch TV on a computer and what does it require?

Well first of all you must have a internet connection, secondly you must have a so called P2P program or peer-to-peer, which i will list some of in a moment.

The reason that i am doing this is because i am living in Denmark and i do not have a living chance to watch any NBA games. I know a lot of people who wants to watch channels like ESPN, Fox and so on.

The programs that you can use, and which i prefere are as of following.

TvuPlayer, PPmate, MAXTV and Sopcast.

It is very easy to download them and use them, just press the name of the program and a download of the program will start.
